Calvert Cliffs State Park

One of our college friends lives in the area and gave us some pointers for our trip to Southern Maryland. One in particular was doing the Red Trail at Calvert Cliffs State Park in Lusby, MD. This beautiful trail is 2 miles there-and-back (4 miles total) with vastly different scenery to look at along the way. It’s mostly flat with some muddy areas in between, so bring your hiking boots. At the end is a stunning view of the cliffs, and space to go fossil hunting. We brought our lunch with us and ate it while on the beach. *Be sure to bring cash for this adventure as it was just a few dollars to enter the park.
