Prada Marfa in Valentine, Texas

On my cross-country road trip, I picked up my cousin, Justin, in Dallas and we headed towards southwestern Texas in a desert town called Valentine. The drive there was beautiful, as we took Route 118 to get to Route 90. On this road, we did not see anybody for an hour and a half!

What to Do

Prada Marfa

Prada Marfa is an art installation in Valentine, Texas, along Route 90. It was built in 2005 by artists Elmgreen and Dragset, with assistance from architects Ronald Rael and Virginia San Fratello. The items inside are not for sale but on display. For us, this was somewhat comical because we were literally in the middle of nowhere. We truly enjoyed this part of the trip!

Where to Eat

Gloria’s Burritos

On the drive from Dallas to Prada Marfa, we stopped at Gloria’s Burritos in Monahans, Texas. The tortillas were handmade which added to a normal burrito taste! The staff was very friendly, and it looked like they had a lot of loyal customers.
