Pigeon Forge
Pigeon Forge is a town full of family attractions at the base of the Smoky Mountains in eastern Tennessee. My dad and I stayed here overnight during my cross-country road trip.
What to Do
Dollywood
Dollywood is the largest attraction in Tennessee. It is a theme park much like a smaller, lesser-known version of Disney World, and it has so much to offer for families. Dollywood was originally known as Rebel Railroad, which opened in 1961 by the Robbins Brothers. The ownership and name of the park changed multiple times throughout the years until Dolly Parton partnered with the Herschend Brothers in 1986 and they built the foundation of what Dollywood is today.
Shopping
There are more than 200 outlet stores in Pigeon Forge; it was actually mind-blowing to see the amount of stores when driving through the town!
Titanic Museum
My aunt recommended we go to the Titanic Museum, but it didn’t work in our time frame during the road trip.
Murder Mystery Dinner
The Great Smoky Mountain Murder Mystery Dinner also caught my eye as we drove through the town.
*Road trip route from here: Prior to Pigeon Forge, we were in Roanoke, VA. After Pigeon Forge, we headed to Nashville.
