Chestertown
This charming town on the water in Kent County was founded in 1706 and is home to the beautiful Washington College. The town had a lot to offer us on a Saturday, including the Farmers Market, many shops, places to eat, and The Cat Colloquium. Click here for a visitors map of the town.
What To Do
Farmers Market
The Chestertown Farmers Market is 3 blocks long and is open from 8am-noon every Saturday during the warmer months.
Cat Colloquium
The Cat Colloquium is a space above Stam's Luncheonnette on the main street in town that promotes animal advocacy, education about cats, and community. We booked the space for an hour and enjoyed playing, petting, and taking pictures with cats! The decor was on point... I couldn't stop laughing and smiling the entire time we were there!
Shopping & Other To Dos
There are very cute shops along the main streets in Chestertown. We especially loved Angela's Cottage! You can also check out Philip G. Wilmer Park along the water.
Where To Eat
Evergrain Bread Company
I recommend you get breakfast at Evergrain Bread Company, which offers delicious coffee and baked goods. The Sun Bun is delightful!
Casa Carmen
You can enjoy wine and charcuterie at Casa Carmen. The owner at this lovely location has a brother who owns the Union Collective in Hampden, Baltimore. Both locations have similar vibes and taste. We met the owner at Casa Carmen and he seemed like a down-to-earth family man who loves his craft!
Stam's Luncheonette
Stam's is on the site of a 19th century pharmacy, with decor to match. It has very-American food for breakfast, lunch, and ice cream.
