Chambers Bay Golf Course Loop
The Chambers Bay Loop surrounds the magnificent Chambers Bay Golf Course, which hosted the U.S. Open in 2015! This 3.5-mile paved trail is southwest of Tacoma showcasing the beautiful Puget Sound. It is very hilly at times, offering amazing views of the Sound and the golf course. Parking is free!
Chambers Bay used to be a quarry for the mining company Pioneer Sand and Gravel. They began operating in 1902 and it was abandoned exactly 100 years later. Then in 2007, it became a golf course. There are still large structures there honoring the mining industry which makes it fun for taking photos and brings the history to life.
