One of the most popular destinations on the west coast, this southern-Italy style scenic beach is small, with lots of cutesy beach shops and restaurants right up to the sand.

Shop!
Kickback and Mia Bella Boutique were my two favorite beach shops in Capitola Village. I immediately walked in and wanted all of their clothing. There are many more shops to walk around, so go explore! You can even drop your husband off at a day care center…
Surf!
I saw a lot of people taking surf lessons here.
Where to Eat
Gayle’s Bakery
Whenever I went to Gayle’s, it was always packed. Get there early or be prepared to wait in a long line! I asked patients and co-workers what they recommended here and they said everything is great. Across the street is the Capitola Village Produce Market. Here, you can get my favorite tortillas I’ve ever had: La Rosa Tortillas. You must get this if you come to Capitola; I was even okay with eating these straight up!
Zelda’s and Paradise Beach Grille

R.I.P. to the old Capitola Wharf, which I was lucky enough to experience before the winter storms of 2022-2023.
