Asheville
Asheville is a quaint, artistic town in the middle of the mountains.
What To Do
Breweries
Asheville is known for hiking and for their beer. The breweries are truly out of this world. Each one we went to had a different vibe and a vastly different beer selection. Each of us favorited a different brewery, so you really can’t go wrong. We had drinks at Wicked Weed Brewery, Funkatorium (sour beers), Bhramari Brewery, and Ginger’s Revenge (ginger beers).
The Biltmore Estate
The Biltmore is another big draw to the town of Asheville. The home of the Vanderbilt's is as magnificent as they come. It is the largest home in the U.S. You need about 45 minutes to get from the Biltmore Village to the House (we got lost, and apparently so does everyone else!). We wished that we spent more money on having a tour guide at the mansion versus doing it on our own as we missed learning about the significance of this place.
The Biltmore Village
The Biltmore village felt very Disney-like with a themed atmosphere. We loved Cedric's Tavern, The Creamery, and don't forget to get reservations for a complementary tasting at The Biltmore Winery's tasting room.
French Broad Chocolate Factory
If you are a chocaholic like me, you need to get the liquid chocolate truffle at French Broad Chocolate Factory in the River Arts district.
Other Things to Do
We asked a bartender what else there was to do in Asheville, and she was so kind to give us her advice (see below).
