Inner Harbor
What to Do
National Aquarium
The National Aquarium is in the heart of the Inner Harbor and dramatizes the Baltimore skyline. The Aquarium opened 40 years ago in 1981 during the Baltimore City Inner Harbor's redevelopment. It is ranked one of the top three aquariums in the U.S. and is one of the most visited attractions in Maryland.
Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse
Built in 1856, this lighthouse is one of the oldest in the Chesapeake region. You can get tickets to go into the lighthouse here. It is a beautiful area to walk around as it is near the National Aquarium and Harbor East.
Event: Baltimore Christmas Village
Every year the Inner Harbor is the home to an authentic German Christmas Market. It is worth a visit as it is filled with vendors who sell authentic German food, hot drinks, and holiday gifts. This event is open Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve.
Event: Mac and Cheese Festival
The Maryland Mac and Cheese Festival is a 2-day event at Power Plant Live in downtown Baltimore. There were about 15 vendors in total, handing out 3 oz. portions of different mac and cheeses. My dream place! You can check for more events at Power Plant Live here.
Where to Eat
Miss Shirley's Cafe
This is a must-go-to for breakfast. I recommend getting there very early, or go on a weekday to avoid the long waitlist.
Blackwall Hitch
At Blackwall Hitch, we enjoyed every bit of our meal and could not stop drinking the Strawberry Kiss beverage!
