South Sound & the Kitsap Peninsula

The beautiful water-filled South Sound region of Washington encompasses the state capital of Olympia, Tacoma, and the area south of Mt. Rainier. I lived in this area during my time in Washington. In most of my downtime I went hiking, so this page is filled with great information on the amazing hiking trails in this region. The Kitsap Peninsula can make for a great day or weekend trip. This peninsula is across the famous Tacoma Narrows Bridge and includes Gig Harbor, the Viking town Poulsbo, and Bainbridge Island.
